Fiber Arts
September 28th Meeting
We will be holding an all-day workshop at my house, 221 Skagit Way in La Conner, led by Julie Anderson and Pat Thompson about Curved Piecing. Not the usual half or quarter circle piecing, but the curvy lines found so often in art quilts from the likes of Sheila Frampton Cooper, Jean Wells, and Hilde Morin. Look at their work for ideas of colors you may want to experiment with. We will start at 10am and work until done.
Tools & Supplies:
Working Sewing Machine and accessories
A small cutting mat for use next to your machine and rotary cutter/blades. If you do not have a small mat, let me know, I have several.
Various fabrics to make a 12x12 piece with choice of thread
NO Irons, I have plenty. NO Rulers, no straight lines to cut. NO Power Strips, I also have plenty.
There will be enough space for everyone if we conserve space by not spreading out too much. There will be several pressing stations with irons, so no need to bring yours.
Don’t forget to bring your lunch!
I’ll send out more reminders later as usual.
Have Fun and Happy Stitching!
