Our First FIQ quilt retreat in years will be at Camp Huston in Gold Bar May 8-11, 2025. You can choose a 2 or 3 night retreat, or even just come up for a day. This is where the guild used to meet for retreat during the 2000s and is a nice campus and friendly staff. Wallace Falls State Park is walking distance away for hikes to break up your day. Ben Franklin Store in Monroe is a short drive for emergency supplies.

Early registrations help us determine how many rooms to reserve. To join us – please print this email, fill out the registration form and send it with your deposit to me (mailing address at bottom of form) or bring it to the guild meeting.

May 12th-Art Quilters-Monday, May 12 at 10:00 AM - Classroom #3 Bring your finished Telephone/Grapevine Challenge quilt so we can pass them to the next person along the line. You will also be returning the first quilt that you chose during the March meeting to its creator. We will each receive the next inspiration quilt in the challenge to take home for the 3rd segment of the challenge.  If you will be unable to attend this meeting, please send your finished #2 challenge piece that was due for this meeting with another member or bring it to me at the main FIQ meeting the first Monday in May.

May 14th-Diva's-The next meeting on Wednesday, May 14th, at the Anacortes Senior Activity Center (10:00 am to Noon) will feature a special talk by Candice Reid on Mary McFadden (1938-2024), an iconic fashion designer she recently discovered and whose work she fell in love with.  McFadden’s distinctive garments and unique sensitivity to color, harmony and proportion brought a new sense of style to American fashion from the 1970’s through the ’90’s.

May 25th-Sit and Sew-Hosted by Julie Anderson-at the Sedro Woolley library. From 10-6. Bring whatever is needed to work on your project, your lunch and beverage. There is no microwave. May 29th-QUILT CLASS !! PLAYING WITH PANELS !!-One spot left-All of us have panels stuffed away in the hidden spots in our sewing studios. Let's pull them out and make something with them. This class will give you the inspiration to create something with those panels.
Time: 10:00 - 4:00 at Cottage Hobby House in Anacortes Cost: $45.00, This class is being taught by our talented returning member Teri Bever. The hobby house has wonderful space for 12, but that's it, so get signed up sooner than later. If you don't know Teri, she has taught quilting for many years and is incredibly talented. I thought that taking advantage of that talent would benefit FIQ in so many ways. We are offering this as a test to see if our members are interested in FIQ offering classes in the future, so if there is something that you would like to see offered, please reach out to me and we can work on scheduling more.
If you have questions about the panel class or want to sign up. You can text with Teri at 360-631-1197. Texting is the most effective method for Teri, or contact me! Past President-Arlene Anderson [email protected] 360-320-0332
